Juneteenth Free Day

Sunday, June 19 | 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

At Discovery Center

Juneteenth (short for “June Nineteenth”) marks the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, in 1865 to take control of the state and ensure that all enslaved people be freed. Join us for a free day celebrating African American history, culture, and the abiding spirit of community — featuring special activities for all ages!

Free and open to the public. Sponsored by The Nissan Foundation.
