The Discovery Center is open to the public!

Updated 8/17/21: Based on guidance from public health officials (both nationally and locally), beginning Aug. 18, 2021, Discovery Center will temporarily require all indoor visitors age 4 and older to wear a face mask or face shield in order to help protect against the spread of COVID-19. Face masks are not required when visiting outdoor areas. More info»

The Discovery Center is open with special safety procedures for visitors to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Below is a brief overview of our policies and procedures, which are based on guidance from public health professionals (including but not limited to the CDC and state and local officials). Thank you for your adherence to these critical safety measures!

What You Need to Know – At a Glance

» ADMISSION: Walk-in admission.

» OPEN: Wednesday – Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m; Sunday, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 a.m. (Closed Monday & Tuesday)

» FACE COVERINGS*: Masks or face shields are required for visitors age 4 and up.

» SOCIAL DISTANCING*: Stay 6 feet apart from anyone not in your family/group.

» EXHIBITS: Some of our exhibits have been altered to reduce the risk of spreading contagions. The entire museum will be cleaned throughout the day.

* Our policies regarding airborne pathogens are based on consensus recommendations from medical and public health professionals who are working to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our community. As such, we are continuing our policy of social distancing until infectious disease experts provide different guidance. As a private business, we are permitted by state and local law to implement policies that meet the unique needs of our employees and guests during this unprecedented time.
