Let’s Give Them Something to Talk About

I began my early childhood journey in 1982 in the Occupational Childcare Class at Smyrna High School.  Prior to graduating, I began working at Smyrna Christian School.  I began as an aide and retired as the director.  I have two children at home, but hundreds in my heart.   My son is a senior at Middle Tennessee State University and my daughter is a senior at Blackman High School.  My husband and I enjoy watching baseball games and dance recitals.

As a parent and preschool professional, I know that parents have a very important job of helping their children fall in love with books.  We will use books to get the children excited about learning and parents excited about teaching.  Books play an important role in the learning process, even before children can read.  Together, we will “explore” the wonderful things that children learn from books:  Thinking Skills, Language Skills, Comprehension Skills, Literature Skills, Art Skills, Movement Skills,  Emotional Skills.

“We are very excited to have Teresa as part of the education team here at Discovery Center.  Her years of experience and her enthusiasm and love of children will allow us to continue offering a high quality Parents and Tots program that meets our mission of inspiring exploration, enhancing learning, and building confidence.” — Veronica King, CFO
