The National Girls Collaborative Project (NGCP) brings together organizations committed to informing and encouraging girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). NGCP connects, creates, and collaborates with advocates for transformative change to advance the agenda in gender equity and expand girls’ participation in STEM.

The Discovery Center at Murfreesboro is proud to be the convening agency for the Tennessee Girls Collaborative Project. Through the power of collaboration, Girls Collaborative initiatives build confidence and create a community of “lifelong STEM activators.” The capacity of programs to spark curiosity and develop a passion for STEM is strengthened through the sharing of exemplary practices, research, and program models.

As the convening agency for the Tennessee Girls Collaborative Project, Discovery Center will bring together organizations and individuals that are committed to informing and motivating girls to pursue careers in STEM, encouraging greater collaboration and improved inter-program communication. This collaborative network offers the chance for schools, informal educators, expanded learning programs, and businesses to come together to share best practices, develop new collaborations, and share resources. Our goal is to strengthen capacity, increase the continuation of girl-serving STEM programs, and create a wider audience for gender-related STEM issues.

The Tennessee Girls Collaborative Project is an inclusive assembly for all stakeholders committed to informing and motivating girls to pursue classes and careers in STEM. The successful career transition of students and the economic future of Tennessee are tied to increased participation by all students in careers that rely on STEM skills and competencies. Join us in helping to prepare Tennessee’s 21st Century workforce.
